Earlier this summer, MHN ran this story about the most famous pubs from military history. Well, all that talk of historic watering holes made me thirsty. So I dug out my passport, drove nine hours and checked one of them out for myself — The Green Dragon Tavern in Boston. Moments after taking the above photo, yours truly slipped inside for a cold draught of Samuel Adams beer. And while I was in the area, I checked out some of the other sights, as you can see below. We’ll be back next week with new stories, in the meantime… more sight seeing. Thanks for reading.

Help this old man’s memory here… A historic ship burned and sank not too long ago… What ship was that? I had thought it was the USS Constitution but now…
And I sure wish I knew of that tavern! I was in Boston a few years ago…
Can’t think of that ship you mentioned, sorry. I wonder if any readers can.
The Cutty Sark was the historic ship that caught fire a few years ago, although she did not sink as she was in dry dock at Greenwich in London. She has now been repaired and reopened to the public.
I think that the USS Constitution is the oldest warship afloat, but that HMS Victory, which is in dry dock, is the world’s oldest commissioned warship.
You are correct about that.
