Weekend Update — The Art of Rehan Siraj

“Sabre Slayer destroyed” by Rehan Siraj.

Two weeks ago, we posted a story about the Saiful Azam, the fighter ace that served in four different air forces in his career. While researching the story, we discovered the aviation artist Rehan Siraj of Pakistan. Siraj, a financial professional by trade, recently produced a watercolour of the famous flying ace in action against Israeli jets over Iraq during the Six Day War. In exchange for granting permission to use his painting in our story, we agreed to promote Siraj’s next work:

A Pakistani F-86 Sabre (being flown by, you guessed it, Saiful Azam) defeating an Indian air force Gnat in 1965. To see more of Siraj’s work, check out his facebook page here. And by the way, if you know of any other artists you think we should profile here, drop us a line at militaryhistorynow@gmail.com. We’d be happy to share it with the growing MHN community.
